I bought this parasol as a gift for my granddaughter. She is very happy with it and I cannot be happier because she loves it!
The parasol is very delicate and so cute? I don't think I could have found a better one for her!

This is a lovely parasol. The paint job is just right - just flowery enough, just colorful enough, not too much of anything. The little wooden dowel piece to keep it open is a bit annoying, but it works just fine! This is exactly what I wanted for an outside summer wedding. I wanted to keep my hands free when the parasol was closed so I made a looped strap that tied to the handle. Something like a strap would have been a nice touch, but for the price I'm not complaining one bit. I highly recommend this for an inexpensive, attractive, sun blocking parasol at a reasonable price!

This parasol was exactly what I expected for $8.95 - nothing more, nothing less. It's very pretty and it does provide a little relief from the sun. My only real gripes are that I don't think it'll last very long. I'm very impressed with the price for the product, though, and I probably will buy one in another color soon.
The painting on both the cloth parasol and the wooden handle is pretty and elegant. The thread that weaves the silk to the bamboo on the underside is very intricate and delicate, making entire parasol beautiful from all angles.
However, within the first two days of using it the adorable hand-painted handle pulled straight off - revealing a very sharp, unfinished edge. I was able to glue it back on, but I wouldn't suggest this for children or anyone who is clumsy. Also, the cheap fabric that covers the bamboo on the top is already fraying, there are little pink strings all over me when I use this parasol.
I honestly don't expect perfect craftsmanship for nine dollars, though, and I love that House of Rice has so many parasols in so many colors for so cheap. Although they're not the highest quality, I like that I will be able to have a variety of parasols to match my mood without breaking the bank.

The shipping was very fast. I received the order in a few short days. The parasol is beautiful. It is made of silk and it does provide a decent amount of shade. The previous reviewer was right in that it can be difficult to close. Otherwise this is a very good purchase.
